Am I missing something? Sorry for being so daft. Having just tried to do what you mention, neither the 003R nor Kyma's Capybara appear in the list of choices when creating an aggregate and yes, I'd like to use my audio hardware for monitoring and not just my MBP's audio card. It worked perfectly the first time and to be honest I never gave the aggregate a second thought until I read your reply. This is the main reason I turned to Reaper, so I could use Soundflower with the Nord G2, that and the fact that I just got tired of Avid's games and their crippleware. Even the IT people at work couldn't make it work using a 003R. Turns out that Avid wouldn't allow it to happen until PT 9 came along running natively. I do it this way because before I started using Reaper I was using Pro Tools 8.0.4 with a 003R and I couldn't get the aggregate device to work for the life of me, so I went this route after researching it. making an aggregate device of your audio interface + soundflower and selecting that like normal in Reaper? I do the same thing with the Nord G2 software. It's not that hard to set up and it runs flawlessly. If you select the 16ch version of Soundflower then you can get some pretty complex stuff happening. Once you've got it set up you can create the MIDI data in Reaper, send it via IAC to Garage Band and then get Garage Bands audio to stream back into different tracks in Reaper for monitoring or recording. While still in Preferences, go down to MIDI devices and enable the IAC buses. Then go to: /Audio/Device/ and pick Soundflower as the input and your audio hardware as the output. Open Reaper and go to Preferences and under Hardware, select "Allow use of different Input and Output devices". Once it's installed you'll be able to open Garage Band and set the audio output to Soundflower in Preferences. Then go to Cycling 74's website and download Soundflower which will allow you to stream multiple channels of audio between apps (the audio equivalent of IAC). Turn on IAC (Inter Application Communication). You'll need to go to Audio MIDI setup on the Mac: Mac HD/Applications/Utilities/Audio MIDI setup. I never use Garage Band but just tried it after reading your post.
